High Temperature Silicon Nitride Ceramics

1. Lightweight and high-strength design
Low density and high rigidity: The density is only 3.2-3.3 g/cm³ (about 40% of steel), but the bending strength is 500-1000 MPa, which is suitable for weight-sensitive aerospace and high-speed rotating parts (such as turbine rotors).
Thin-wall structure optimization: Design thin-walled complex shapes through finite element analysis (FEA) to reduce material usage while maintaining load-bearing capacity (such as the hollow structure of semiconductor fixtures).
2. Extreme environment resistant structure
High temperature stability: Avoid sharp corner stress concentration during design, use rounded corner transition to prevent thermal stress cracking at 1200°C (such as the gradient flow channel design of the nozzle).
Thermal shock resistance: Low thermal expansion coefficient (3.2×10⁻⁶/°C) When matching metal parts, use gradient materials or flexible connection structures (such as sealing rings for thermal mechanical coupling).
3. Functional integration design
Multi-material composite:
Metal inserts: embedded threaded sleeves or metal flanges to solve the problem of ceramic-metal connection (such as sensor housing).
Conductive modification: adding TiN or carbon fiber to locally impart conductivity (fuel cell bipolar plates).
Porous structure: controllable porosity design for filtration or heat dissipation (such as gradient pores in molten metal filters).
1. Industrial machinery and manufacturing
Silicon nitride ceramic bearings have the characteristics of low density, high hardness, high temperature resistance, self-lubrication, etc. They are suitable for high-speed, high-temperature, non-lubricated or vacuum environments, and their life span is 3-5 times longer than that of traditional steel bearings.
2. Cutting Tools & Blades
Silicon nitride ceramic blades have high hardness (15GPa) and can efficiently process difficult-to-cut materials such as cast iron, nickel-based alloys, and titanium alloys, reducing tool wear and improving processing efficiency.
3. Semiconductors and electronics
Silicon nitride ceramics have ultra-high cleanliness, anti-static, and plasma corrosion resistance, and are suitable for wafer handling, etching, CVD and other processes in semiconductor manufacturing.
4. Automobile and Transportation
Silicon nitride ceramic turbine rotors are lighter than metals, reducing turbo lag, improving engine response speed, and are resistant to high-temperature exhaust gas corrosion (900°C).
